Indian Music

Recently, I have been listening to some old music basically 80's and 90's, which made me feel happy and also made my evening perfect. It feels good when you listen to that music, which you almost forgot but are still in back of your head. Then suddenly it struck to my mind that where are those golden days when great songs were made and lyrics were written. Now a days there is no lyrics, but only music.

Earlier the songs were smooth and full of feeling that anybody can attach and relate themselves to it, but now all the smoothness has gone. Lyrics were also written with the feeling. All type of songs related to romance, passion, patriotism etc. were made in those days and they were so beautifully made that when we listen it today, we relate ourselves to the it, but this doesn't happen with the new songs (with few exceptions). In new songs you won't find any lyrics, the thing which it contains is only beats, beats, beats and heavy music.

Also, when ever you listen the songs like "Pehla nasha, pehla khumar" or "Hosh walo ko khabar kya" or "Pyar hua chupke se" or "Jab koi baat bigad jaaye" etc., you will suddenly connect yourself to the person you love most. But you won't find yourself in that position while listening to the new songs (yet again there are some exceptions).

At that time more and more patriotic songs were made from which some are "Bharat ka rehne wala hoon, bharat ki baat sunata hoon" or "Ab tumhare haawale watan saathiyon" etc. are my favorite once. In that list I have "Ae mere watan ke logo" sung by Lata Mangeshkar at National Stadium, New Delhi. I bet some of these songs will be your patriotic songs too. The last patriotic songs I listened was "Vande Mantram" from the movie "Lage raho munna bhai".

There are some songs like "Main zindagi ka saath nibhata chala gaya", which can give you courage to move forward in the life whatever the situation is. But this type of songs you don't hear in these days.

Apart from these Bollywood Hindi songs, we have albums coming on at regular interval from different singers like Sonu Nigam, Atif Aslam, Adnan Sami etc. and were different bands too Band of Boys, Aryans, Bombay Vikings etc. whose songs were so good that if you listen even today you feel happy. During 90's and early 20's those were very famous. But now it seems that nobody want to make album or be a part of band and everybody just want to enter the bollywood. It is a great loss to the person like us who are listener to the soft, slow and good music.

Even today, if we listen to the old music we feel warmed. So, what made songs from that period so beautiful, relaxing and energizing? According to me its because of those persons who were involved in the writing, composing and singing of the songs did their best for success of that songs. They worked very hard for that, so that they can feel the nerve of the situation. With all that effort the results were astonishing.

But now the trend has been completely changed. There is no sense and lyrics in the song, but the young generation is still loving it. The other day I was listening to the songs which says "Yeh fugly fugly kya hai, yeh fugly fugly", I don't know what is the meaning of this line, but people are still loving it. Still there is a long list of this type of song which have been made in recent years. In this type of trend, lyricist don't have to work hard to write, every word can be used as lyrics of the song.

I can't say that, people of that period felt the same way, as we are feeling now. As the trend is changing very fast, maybe the future generation persons say that, music of this period (21st Century) was great. We will never know.
