India's action - Post Uri-attack

Eighteen soldiers were killed by four heavily armed terrorist/militant on September 18, 2016 in Uri area of Baramulla district (Indian-administered state of Jammu and Kashmir). It is not the first time that some militant or terrorist group had attacked India. In early this year there was an attack on Pathankot Air Force Station, part of the Western Air Command of the Indian Air Force. From time to time India had faced many such terrorist attacks along with a constant insurgence by the militants/terrorist in state of Jammu and Kashmir (most Terrorist come from State of Pakistan). India had always tolerated it and tried to go by the procedure. But this time it was different as India had it all, now the Indian government is trying to reciprocate the actions done by the Pakistan, in a diplomatic manner. In this view the Modi government has embarked on a series of retaliatory steps including - sustained diplomatic offensive, reviewing 56-year-old water treaty, boycotting regional inter...

India in Rio Olympics - 2016

Image
Congratulation to Badminton Player PV Sindhu for securing Silver Medal, Wrestler Player Sakshi Malik for her Bronze and Gymnast Dipa Karmakar for her creditable fourth position.   It is now the end of the Rio Olympics - 2016. Overall this Olympics was bad news for India. India was able to score only 2 medal (1 Silver and 1 Bronze) despite being a home of more than 1.3 billion people and tens of millions of sports fan. In the 21st Century this was the worst performance by India in Olympics.  Before the start of the event it is said that India will be able to able to get 12-14 medals but the results are not fruitful as the commitment. In the history of Olympics India was only able to score 28 medal (9 Gold, 7 Silver and 12 Silver) - equal to the Gold tally of Michael Phelps, American Swimmer, itself. The overall performance of India in each Olympics is summarize in the table below:  India has performed poor in this Olympics and every other Olympic g...

Nanotechnology - dawn of new technology

Image
Earlier I have written about the  Evolution of Technology , in which I have talked about how inventions and innovations have happened to develop new technology and ideas in the past . Now in this blog I am going to talk the Miniaturization of technology in day-to-day term we call it 'Nanotechnology'.   This nanotechnology is the new upcoming ideas towards the future. It has already passed several steps, and yet it is in the process of refinement. Nanotechnology can be defined as a branch of technology and deals with dimensions and tolerance of less than 100 nano-meters, especially the manipulation of individual atom or molecule.  and engineering of functional or as engineering of functional system at the molecular scale. Some experts may still insist that nanotechnology can refer to measurement or visualization at the scale of 1-100 nano-meters, but a consensus seems to be forming around the that control and restructuring of matter at the nano-scale is a nec...

Power Hunger

Becoming a superpower is one of the most intriguing dream of any person or country. When we talk about person we talk talk about domination of one person over the others, but when we talk about the country we are talking about the world domination. When a country think to dominate the world, it has to prove itself not just in one field, but in many. This process is not simple and easy as it sounds. Even though becoming the dominating power, being an authoritative and influential power to other countries of the world is not new, and its roots have deep embedded in our history. As we all know that today the world is a multi-polar world, means there are multiple emerging powers in different regions of the world, but one power above all is United States of America. But the situation has never been the same, there were times when other countries in the world has dominated the rest. It is an evolving process in which every country has got the chance if it fulfill the expectations/criteria...

Agriculture in India

Agriculture has been a primary activity since the early period of the human history, and it has remained the oldest economic activity. Around two-third of the population of India is involved in agriculture and its allied activities, making it the largest livelihood provider. Most of the production by the farmers is consumed domestically and very little is exported. Agriculture is the prime source of providing work to the rural India but its contribution in the GDP is minimal. Year-by-year the contribution of agriculture and its allied allied activities in the GDP decreased from 55% in 1950-51 to 18.2% in 2013-14, which is very sad. In fact India is the largest producer, consumer and exporter of spices and spice products. India's fruit production has grown faster than vegetables! making it the second largest fruit producer in the world. India's horticulture fruits, vegetables and spices reached to a record high of 283.5 million tonnes (MT) in 2014-15. It ranks third in fa...

Turmoil in oil market and its impact on India

The price of West Texas and Brent crude oil has dived below $34 per barrel! lowest in 11 years, world in shock. Reasons: 1. China's slow growth rate:  Asia's largest consumer of oil, and largest & fastest growing economy, has seen slowest growth of the generation. Its currency 'Yuan' is also depreciating in the global market. Trading on its stock markets has also been suspended (twice in a week), because of the same reason. The world Bank has predicted that China's trouble will also lead to decrease in commodity prices. The demand of oil in China has reduced significantly due to which global market is overwhelmed with the glut of oil. 2. Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) undivided:  The breaking off of diplomatic relation between Iran and Saudi Arabia shows just how it is impossible for those rival countries to cooperate for the oil prices. The Saudi Arabia, largest producer in OPEC , is pumping excess of 10 million barrels-a-day to the...
